If you fancy something to do this weekend, then why not come into the Jewellery Quarter and have a wander around The Jewellery Quarter Farmers’ Market .

What you’ll find at the market..
“Our next market is Saturday the 15 October – and this month we have a real treat (or trick) for you!
We’ve got live music again from Tiger Jazz as everyone loved them so much last time. Plus, we’re offering spooky Hallowean facepainting and treats on the community stall.
All our usual stall holders will be there plus we have a variety of new ones including yummy macaroons, breads, coffee and fresh noodle cooking if you fancy a hot snack.
Come along and be part of the action from 10am-3pm at the Big Peg car park, Warstone Lane, B18 6NA. The facepainting runs from 11-1pm.”
About The Jewellery Quarter Farmers’ Market .
A group of local people have come together to set up and and run the “24 Carrots” Jewellery Quarter (JQ) Farmers’ Markets in the Big Peg Car park from 4th July 2009.
Each market will consist of 20-30 stalls and be sited in front of the Big Peg.
It is anticipated that the markets will become a fully self-funding social enterprise, providing:
- regular monthly markets throughout the year
- special one-off events that benefit the area and its community
Any and all surpluses will be re-invested back into the development of the market and for the improvement of the area for the benefit of the community.
The farmers’ market aims to:
- provide an irresistibly exciting central place for people to meet friends and families, share good food and have fun in style
- enhance the JQ diamond trade by promoting themes of weddings and sparkling celebrations in all cultures
- contribute to the success of local businesses by increasing the number of people who visit the JQ regularly
- provide a wide range of fresh, local produce from farmers and local schools’ and neighbourhood allotments
- support healthy eating initiatives in partnership with local schools and primary care trusts
- provide a central platform on which to build community cohesion
- support social inclusion by providing people with an opportunity to volunteer and be trained in setting up and running markets
- promote creativity by stimulating and marketing community based events & activities
